A cardiologist defined by imaging, innovation, and prevention.
Dr. Shone O. Almeida is a board-certified preventive cardiologist and cardiac CT specialist trained at UCLA, UC San Diego, and Harbor-UCLA. He serves as Director of Cardiac CT and Medical Director of the Cardiometabolic Disease Prevention Program at Tampa General Heart & Vascular Institute, and Assistant Professor of Cardiology at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine.
"Pioneering the future of heart health through cutting-edge cardiac imaging — while zipping through life as a husband, father, and innovative entrepreneur."

Clinical leadership.
Academic foundation.
Quadruple board-certified.
Earlier detection. Smarter decisions. Better outcomes.
Every clinical encounter is grounded in three commitments: detect cardiovascular disease earlier than the symptoms reveal it, translate advanced imaging into clear decisions, and pair every diagnosis with a precise, personalized prevention strategy.
Translating imaging innovation into real-world impact.
Dr. Almeida's research focuses on cardiac CT adoption, imaging biomarkers, plaque morphology and progression, pericoronary fat attenuation, coronary artery calcium for preventive screening, and disparities in cardiovascular imaging utilization.
Advancing what cardiology can see — and do.
From AI-enabled plaque analytics to FFR-CT and CT-guided complex PCI planning, his practice represents the leading edge of non-invasive cardiovascular evaluation and treatment planning.
Cardiology defined by what we prevent, not just what we treat.
Integrating lipid science, metabolic health, vascular imaging, and behavioral medicine into a unified preventive strategy designed for long-term cardiovascular wellbeing.
"Cardiology is changing. The future belongs to those who can see disease earlier, understand it more deeply, and prevent it more precisely."
